This is where body shops keep their resistance spot welders running: GYS G-arms and C-arms, electrode caps, shanks and electrodes, water lines, O-rings, cable balancers and the small service parts that wear out in daily use. Most of it is genuine GYS, made in France, for the GYSPOT PTI Genius, PTI Genius Plus, NEO and BP-series welders that collision shops use for OEM-style squeeze-type spot welds.
We also carry Innovative Tool Supplies (ITS) caps, shanks and electrodes that are compatible with Pro Spot i4, i4s and PR-2000 welders, so a shop running mixed equipment can buy its consumables in one place.
Know your machine and arm
G-arms (G1 to G14) fit the GYSPOT PTI Genius, Genius Plus and NEO; C-arms (C1 to C9) fit the BP.LC-s7, BP.LCX-s7 and PTI-s7. The arm number is stamped on the arm.
Match the cap type
GYS caps come in Type A, B, D, F and G. The type is set by the arm and electrode, not the job, so order the type your arm already uses.
Buy caps by the box
Caps are the part you go through fastest. Keep a spare set and a cap sharpener or tip dresser on the cart so worn tips get dressed instead of thrown out.
Check the reach before a structural repair
Deep-reach and specialty arms (G4, G5, G8) are built for rear body panels, wheelhouses and rocker areas the standard arm can't get to.
Do GYS arms fit a Chief spot welder?
Several GYS G-arms are listed as compatible with the Chief MI300T. Each arm's page says which machines it fits.
How often should caps be dressed or replaced?
Dress them whenever the face mushrooms or the weld nuggets start to look inconsistent. Replace them when dressing no longer brings back a clean, flat face.
