Collision work punishes a cheap helmet. You're welding thin panel in awkward positions, switching between processes, and flipping up to check your work a hundred times a shift. Why welders choose it
True Color technology
Real, natural weld color — not the usual green haze. You can read the puddle as it moves and catch porosity or undercut while you're still on the joint, instead of after you lift the hood. Over a shift, that's the difference between finding your defects and your customer finding them.
MultiFit+ headband
Three-way adjustment — head circumference, head support and tilt — so the weight sits where it should instead of dragging on your forehead. At 580 g it stays balanced through a full shift, not just a few passes. Set it once for the tech who wears it and it stays set.
Every control inside the hood
Shade, sensitivity, delay and the weld/grind switch all sit on the inside panel, so you adjust mid-job without taking the helmet off. The XL 100 × 67 mm panoramic window carries optical class 1/1/1/1 — the top rating in all four categories under EN 379 — and a low-battery indicator warns you before the filter does.
Covers every process in the shop
Four arc sensors trigger the filter in 0.08 ms — eight hundredths of a millisecond. Grind mode holds the filter clear so you aren't swapping hoods to dress a weld.
The number that matters for panel work is the low end: TIG triggers from 2 A, so the filter still darkens on thin aluminium where less sensitive helmets let an arc through.
Understanding the shade ranges
| Light shade 3 clear state | Bright enough to line up a joint, set a clamp or inspect a bead without lifting the hood. |
| Shade 5–9 lower range | For lower-current work and processes with a less intense arc. |
| Shade 9–13 upper range | For higher-current MIG and stick work where the arc is brightest. |
| Grind mode filter held clear | Locks the filter clear so grinding sparks don't trigger it. Switch back before you strike an arc. |
Sensitivity and delay are adjustable alongside shade. Always set your shade according to the instruction manual and your shop's safety procedures.
