Questions shops ask
What is the GYS equivalent of a Chief MI300i or Mi300T?
The GYS PTI Genius Plus. Both are 14,500 A transformer-gun spot welders with an automatic mode that reads steel type and thickness, liquid cooling to the tips, a motorized boom and G-series arms. The full side-by-side is in the table above.
What is the GYS equivalent of a Chief MI200T?
The GYS PTI NEO is the closest match: 14,000 A maximum (12,100 A at 208 V), up to 550 daN, 3-phase 208–240 V on a 30 A circuit, fully liquid-cooled, with G1, G2 and G4 arms.
What is the GYS equivalent of a Chief MultiMig 522 or 525?
The GYS Autopulse 220-M2 for the two-torch 522 and the Autopulse 220-M3 for the three-torch 525. All are single-phase pulsed MIG/MAG machines with separate feeders for steel, aluminum and brazing wire.
What does GYS offer against the Chief MultiTool Aluminum Dent Repair Station?
The GYSPOT ALU PRO FV, a capacitor-discharge aluminum stud welder, with the 1600 cart kit for the pulling bar and tools. If you'd rather pull with drawn-arc, the GYSPOT Arc Pull 200 handles aluminum and steel.
Can I trade in my Chief welder?
Yes. We take Chief and Elektron spot welders, MIG welders and dent repair stations in trade toward new GYS or Hand Cannon equipment. See the trade-in section on our used equipment page.
Where do these specs and prices come from?
Chief figures are from Chief Collision Technology's published cutsheets and product pages. GYS figures are from the GYS datasheets and our product pages. Where a manufacturer doesn't print a value, the table says so. Chief doesn't publish machine prices on its own site. Where a Chief price is shown, it is a published list price for that configuration, with the seller and the date we saw it; actual dealer pricing varies. Our prices are read live from our store.
Have a Chief or Elektron now?
Trade it in toward a new GYS or Hand Cannon, or ask us about reconditioned equipment.
Chief, Chief Collision Technology, Elektron, MultiSpot, MultiMig, MultiTool and TrueAutoMode are names of Vehicle Service Group / Dover Corporation. Chief figures are taken from Chief's published cutsheets (Mi300T 08/22, MI200T 03/18, MultiMig 522 10/16, MultiMig 525 10/18, M30 05/23, MultiTool Workstation 10/19) and automaker program listings (read October 2026); where Chief's own documents give two figures, the cutsheet is used. CRTE is not affiliated with Chief or Vehicle Service Group.
