The AM18 is TEXA's cable for Volvo Penta EGC and EVC systems that use the 8-pin rectangular diagnostic connector. It is a CAN cable, so it plugs into the 3903008 Marine CAN main cable (AM01 CAN) rather than the standard AM01. With that chain in place IDC5 MARINE reads the EGC/EVC network for faults, live data and service functions. Earlier EGC engines from 05/2005 to 05/2007 use the AM26 cable instead.
