Not every truck or machine has a dedicated TEXA cable, and that is where the universal cable and pin-out kit comes in. Instead of a fixed vehicle plug, it gives you a set of pin-out leads you connect to the individual pins of the vehicle's diagnostic socket, following the pin-out IDC5 TRUCK or IDC5 OFF-HIGHWAY shows for that controller. It is the fallback a tech reaches for on odd or older equipment, and it powers through the Truck & OHW supply and adapter kit.
