What the Warranty Does Not Cover
Transport and wear
- Damage caused during transport or shipping
- Normal wear of consumable parts — cables, clamps, electrodes, caps, connectors, hoses, nozzles, and similar items
Improper use
- Incorrect electrical supply or voltage
- Drops, impacts, or shock
- Dismantling or opening the unit by unauthorized persons
- Overloading, or using accessories not approved by GYS
Operating environment
- Pollution, corrosion or rust, dust infiltration, excess humidity
- Exposure to rain or water — IP20 rating means no water protection
Coolant, air, and installation
- Improper coolant use — standard automotive coolant is forbidden in spot welders
- Damage caused by coolant freezing inside the machine
- Blocked cooling circuits caused by improper or contaminated fluids
- Inadequate or contaminated air supply — oil, moisture, or impurities
- Incorrect arm installation or misalignment
- Use in an installation that is not properly grounded
- External electrical network disturbances, including generator instability or voltage spikes
User modification
User-performed repairs, alterations, modifications, or bypassing of safety systems.
What Voids the Warranty
The warranty is voided in any of the following cases:
- The unit has been opened, modified, or repaired by anyone other than GYS or an approved repairer
- Serial number or safety labels are missing, altered, or illegible
- The product is used outside its electrical specifications
- Non-approved consumables or accessories are used and cause damage
- There is evidence of misuse, shock, liquid ingress, improper coolant, freezing, or contamination
- Installation is improper, or ventilation, grounding, or environmental requirements are not met
Before anyone opens a GYS machine under warranty, call us. A well-meant in-house repair is the most common way this coverage gets lost.
After-Sales Repair Warranty
For repairs performed by GYS or an officially authorized GYS repair center on products no longer covered by the original warranty:
- The repair itself — parts and labor associated with that repair — is covered for three (3) months
- This repair warranty applies only to the specific components repaired
- Transport costs are excluded unless otherwise agreed
Starting a Warranty Claim
GYS requires that the product be returned to its official distributor or reseller. If you purchased from CRTE, that is us — start here:
- Contact CRTE — call (973) 768-9812 or email sales@innovativecrte.com. Do not open or attempt to repair the unit; that voids the warranty.
- Provide a dated proof of purchase — invoice, receipt, or equivalent. GYS cannot process a claim without it.
- Describe the failure in writing — the symptoms observed, plus any diagnostic reports or error codes if you have them.
- We handle it from there — the claim is processed under the GYS manufacturer warranty.
Products received without proof of purchase cannot be processed under warranty.
Transport Liability
Transport damage is explicitly excluded from the warranty. It is the responsibility of the customer or carrier to inspect the shipment and note any damage immediately upon delivery.
