Important: This update is intended for compatible PTI Genius Plus machines only. Before updating, confirm the machine model and serial number. If you are unsure, contact Innovative Solutions CRTE before proceeding.
Locate the USB Port
The Genius Plus USB port is located behind the small front cover on the HMI control panel. Remove the screw and open the cover to access the USB port.
Customers often miss this port because it is covered. The screw-secured cover must be opened before inserting the USB stick.
USB Update Procedure
These instructions are written specifically for the PTI Genius Plus interface with 1 knob and 2 buttons.
Download the latest update file.Use the download button above to download the latest .egf system update file.
Prepare the USB stick.Format the USB stick as FAT32 or exFAT.
Copy the .egf file onto the USB stick.The file must be placed directly on the USB stick. Do not place it inside a folder or subfolder.
Make sure there is only one .egf file on the USB stick.The USB stick should contain only one Genius Plus update file.
Turn the Genius Plus off.Switch off the machine using the On/Off button.
Open the USB cover and insert the USB stick.Remove the screw on the USB cover, open the cover, and insert the USB stick into the USB port.
Press and hold the HMI knob.Press and hold the main knob on the front of the Genius Plus control panel.
Turn the machine on while holding the knob.Continue holding the HMI knob while switching the Genius Plus back on.
Release the knob when the update screen appears.When the screen displays the system update message, release the knob and allow the update to run.
Wait for the machine to restart.When the update is complete, the machine will display an update-complete message and restart automatically.
Do not remove the USB stick, turn off the machine, or interrupt power during the update. Interrupting the update may cause software issues that require service support.
